Taner Akyol Trio, was born during a studio recording session in 2003. The colors arisen from the synergy of improvised bağlama, piano and percussion led three musicians

to discover an experimental field that is in between of orientalist passion and intellectual

search of timbre: a field of timbre, in which they are fading in and out together,

coming again together in new colors, overlapping in complicated rhythms, crossing

the borders one by one.

Taner Akyol Trio makes records with ENJA-Records and gives concerts in many

countries with a repertoire that consists of Taner Akyol’s compositions that are based

on Anatolian folk music tradition and aiming to bring the interaction of Eastern and

Western musical tradition together in an advanced level.
